The Quality Man
Christian - Head of Team, Quality Control Test Laboratory
„The incorporation of own ideas and the assumption of responsibilities motivate and have a positive influence on the quality of work, and therefore also on our products”.
Tell us about your career at Aspöck Systems so far, and your previous vocational experience!?
“In June 2007, I began to work for Aspöck Systems in Quality Assurance as a quality inspection employee. When a test laboratory was opened at the location in Peuerbach, I took over responsibility for quality in projects, and since then have been Head of the “Quality Control Test Laboratory” Team. Gradually, test laboratories were also opened at the other locations, for which I meanwhile bear the technical responsibility”.
After compulsory schooling, I successfully completed the Electronics Technical College in Wels, and was able to gather two years of vocational experience at a company specialising in the development of electronics components and software applications before I began my career at Aspöck Systems”.
Which range of tasks does your job comprise, and which important characteristics do you need for this field of activities?
“The most important part of my function is to guarantee smooth processes in the test laboratory. This includes the creation of inspection plans including cost statements, validations of new developments and planning for internal and external inspections. Subsequently, reports are produced regarding the tests as well as PPAP documentation, which are then provided to the respective customers. In addition to the specialist knowledge required in quality assurance and project management as well as know-how regarding environmental simulation and standards, which I have been able to accumulate through diverse further training courses, an important part of my role as Head of Team is good communication skills and the readiness to make decisions. Accuracy and an independent method of working are also important components for this field. In order to ensure proper communication with other members of staff in the test laboratories at our other locations, and of course also with international customers / suppliers, good English language skills are a prerequisite”.
Why do you work at Aspöck Systems, and which tips do you have for newcomers to the company?
“For me, the flexible working hours as well as the many possibilities for further training (which have been) approved for me by Aspöck Systems are a significant reason why I feel comfortable within the company. In my opinion, the great atmosphere here binds many of our staff to the company.
Tips for newcomers:
I would consider a healthy portion of down-to-earth attitude mixed with professionalism to be important in our company.
Although we all maintain very friendly working relationships, the demands placed on our branch are increasing, which makes highly accurate and analytical working methods essential”.
